Whether you are NC born and raised or a transplant to the area – you know that March Madness is an exciting time in collegiate athletics, especially in the Triangle area. We are excited to congratulate NC Central, NC State, UNC and Duke on making it into the dance!
The first look at NC team play starts on March 18th when NC State (21-13) matches up against Xavier (21-12) at 9:10 PM at University of Dayton Arena in Dayton, Ohio. Coverage will be through truTV and the winner will move on to play the Saint Louis Billikens (26-6) at 7:20 PM at the Amway Center in Orlando, FL. Coverage will be through TNT.
The Mercer Bears (26-8) will be facing the Duke Blue Devils (26-8) in a somewhat ‘home game’ at the PNC Arena in Raleigh, NC. The game starts at 12:15 PM and can be watched on CBS for those of you who can’t make it out to the game.
UNC & NC Central
Both of these teams are playing in the East bracket and could potentially play against one another if they win their first games on March 21st. The Tarheels (23-9) are matched up against the Providence Friars (23-11) at 7:20 PM and the NC Central Eagles (28-5) will be playing against the Iowa State Cyclones (26-7) at 9:50 PM. Both games will be at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, TX and you can watch coverage of this game on TNT.
In addition to seeing so many of our schools make it into the tournament we are proud to have Raleigh host several of the early-round games and welcome the Massachusetts Minutemen, Virginia Cavaliers, Coastal Carolina Chanticleers, Memphis Tigers and George Washington Colonials.
